Root Canal Treatment Symptoms, Treatment , Medicines

What is Root Canal Treatment ?

Within dentistry, a root canal treatment is referred to as endodontic therapy. Behind this clinical term hides the treatment of an injured tooth, which may have already fallen victim to a bacterial infection. During the treatment the infection is eradicated, the interior of the tooth is removed and replaced with an artificial substance and finally the opening is capped to prevent further bacteria from invading. After the root canal treatment is finished, the tooth remains in place but is no longer “alive.”

A root canal treatment is sometimes an hour-long procedure that involves making a small hole in the tooth, cleaning out the soft tissue inside the tooth along with the infected nerve and sealing the tooth. After the operation, the tooth is, however, dead and you will never feel any sensation in that tooth again. The procedure begins with an injection of local anesthetic – possibly the only pain that you should feel during the operation. The dentist will then strategically drill holes in the teeth. The next step is to remove the soft tissue and nerves, both of which constitute the dental pulp. The pulp is removed using an instrument called a file, this resembles a thin screw and that is rotated until the dental pulp comes out along with the screw. This can last for several minutes as the dental pulp is removed. Finally, the wound is filled with calcium hydroxide paste and sealed with dental cement.

Tooth Nerve Pain Relief

Over the course of the next few sessions, the dentist will fill the now empty tooth with a rubber-like substance called gutta percha and permanently seal the tooth. Cosmetic surgery can follow shortly after this to rebuild the tooth. Most remedies for a painful tooth require the use of dried cloves that should be chewed on or a mouthwash using clove oil. Care should be taken to moderate the amount of clove swallowed, as clove can cause hyperacidity.

Rheumatic Heart Disease How to Diagnose ?

Rheumatic (roo-MAT'ik) heart disease is a condition in which the heart valves are damaged by rheumatic fever.

It occurs when antibodies, produced to fend off the strep infection, begin to attack other areas of the body. When this happens to the heart, the valves scar and become inflamed causing the muscle to become weak

  1. Step 1
Give a detailed medical history to your doctor, including all past history including recent colds or fevers. These symptoms provide key indicators for suspicion of an active strep infection which could lead to rheumatic heart disease.

  2. Step 2
Undergo an electrocardiogram test to map the electrical activities of your heart. Changes or abnormal activities generally require further testing, such as an echocardiogram. This test provides an ultrasound of the heart to assist your physician in making a definitive diagnosis.

  3. Step 3
Know that your physician may want to perform blood tests including one that shows the presence of streptococcal antibodies. This test enables your doctor to see if you may have had a streptococcal infection.

  4. Step 4
Plan on having a chest x-ray done. An x-ray can give your doctor an indication of the size of your heart and the degree of inflammation present.

  5. Step 5
Monitor your temperature should you become sick. If you develop a sore throat see your doctor to assess for any signs of strep. If you are prescribed antibiotics, take all the pills prescribed, even if you begin to feel better.

Healthy Diet Tips , How Does Exercise and Healthy Diet Help in Weightloss ?

healthy foods, diet, tesco diet, comida balanceada, cuidado personal

Diet and exercise is a combination that will help you to avoid various chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and stroke; although that fact is widely known, apparently it is still difficult for most of people who have used to current sedentary lifestyle. Due to this behavior, nearly 300,000 people in U.S. die each year from diseases that related to inactivity and unhealthy diet.

Health Diet Tips

1. Start slowly; this applies for both diet and exercise. You can't suddenly reduce your meal portion drastically or jogging 5 miles every morning; build up new eating behavior and activity gradually over a period of months instead.

2. Water is one of the best ways to keep your metabolism going and keep your body healthy. Eight to ten (8 oz glasses) glass of water per day is recommended for everyone. Just remember not to exceed water since it can flush out too many nutrients from the body.

3. As a start, try to increase your physical activity during your typical day. Walking to the nearest shop, take stairs instead of elevator, take a little farther parking spot, and maybe a light jog before starting your working day are a great start.

4. You can start to change your diet by reduce your meal portion and make your regular meal time from three to five times a day. This way, you will keep full all day, avoid too much snacks, and keep your body metabolism at good rate. During this period, take some times during break to learn about healthy eating, various foods that provide proper nutrients, and the ability to distinguish good and bad food by reading food label.

5. When you have used to light daily physical activities, accumulate 30 minutes of cardiovascular activities each day. You can split this to smaller sessions, for instance: divide it in three sessions, each session take 10 minutes. Including swimming and increase your jogging duration are good ideas. From my experience, jog with a friend or favorite pets can be a really good moment, otherwise strap your MP3 player and listen to your favorite songs; you will be surprise on how much distance you've covered when you are not actually counting each of your steps or keep looking at your watch.

6. Introduce various healthy foods that you've known to your daily meals. Reduce trans fat, saturated fat, caffeine, alcohol, refined sugar, salt gradually. At the same time increase vegetable, fruits, cereal, lean meat, and low fat dairy products consumption.

7. The next step in diet and exercise is including weight training; this maybe hard for some people but gaining more muscle means you'll be one step away from obesity which is the trigger to many other chronic diseases. Add two weight training sessions per week in your schedule when you feel that you are ready.

Genetic mutation How Does it linked to ‘wrinkly skin’ syndrome ?

Singapore and Germany scientists claim to have discovered a genetic mutation responsible for premature skin aging disease.

They hope that the new finding would provide a new approach for age-defying, anti-wrinkling treatments.

The researchers have revealed that mutations in the PYCR1 gene cause the rare genetic condition that results in premature skin aging known as “wrinkly skin syndrome.”

Lead researcher Dr Bruno Reversade of Singapore’’s Institute of Medical Biology (IMB) says that increasing levels of the PYCR1 protein could reverse conditions that cause fast aging and wrinkly skin.

During the study, the international team analysed DNA samples from patients who, at a young age, displayed signs of premature aging.

They identified the PYCR1 gene on chromosome 17 of these patients to be defective and found specific mutations in the gene that led to conditions often seen in elderly people, such as loose skin, loss of bone density, hip dislocation and cataract.

“We are excited by these findings of Bruno and colleagues, which open up new possibilities in the field of aging and skin research,” Nature quoted Dr Birgit Lane, a skin biologist and Executive Director of IMB, one of the research institutes sponsored by Singapore’’s A*STAR (Agency for Science, Technology and Research).

The study appears in journal Nature Genetics.

Breast Cancer Surgery Decision , How Does Family Affect ?

A new study from the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center has found that about 75 percent of women newly diagnosed with breast cancer are accompanied by a friend or family member during their first visit to a surgeon and that person plays a major role in the patient’’s decision of what type of surgery to have.

In the study, the researchers looked at factors affecting a woman’’s choice between a mastectomy to remove the entire breast or breast-conserving surgery, which involves removing only the tumor and is followed by radiation treatments.

They found that when the patient, rather than the doctor, drives the surgery decision, the patient is more likely to choose a mastectomy. This proved to be the case among all racial and ethnic groups.

The study also showed that women who had a friend or family member accompany them to the surgical consultation were more likely to receive a mastectomy, compared to women who attended the appointment alone.

Latinas who speak little English were most influenced by family in their decision-making: 75 percent, compared to 34 percent of white women.

“Family and friends have a potentially important role in treatment discussions. More than 70 percent of women brought someone with them to the appointment, providing a chance for surgeons to convey information to both the patient and her support person. Clearly, others help with and contribute to decision making, and may do so differently for different racial or ethnic groups,” says lead study author Sarah Hawley, Ph.D., M.P.H., research associate professor of internal medicine at the U-M Medical School.

Researchers analyzed survey responses from 1,651 women diagnosed with early stage breast cancer in the Detroit and Los Angeles metropolitan areas.

Patients were asked about their surgical treatment decision, including how involved they were in the decision making, whether a family member or friend accompanied them to the appointment and their attitudes toward surgery. Higher numbers of African Americans and Latinas were included.

The study appears online Aug. 31 in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute.

Do Green Tea Really Helps in Weightloss ? Tips

Green tea is a type of tea made solely with the leaves of Camellia sinensis, that has undergone minimal oxidation during processing. Green tea originates from China and has become associated with many cultures in Asia from Japan to the Middle East. They are Rich in antioxidants, including vitamins C, E and polyphenols, this extract helps to neutralize tissue-damaging free radicals and soothes irritated skin.
An herb (Camellia sinensis). Green tea originates in China, Japan and other parts of Asia. The leaf of the plant is used in creating the extract which is potent and bioflavonoid-rich. This herb is used primarily for its free-radical scavenging capabilities.
These leaves are light green and are not fermented. The supposed benefits of Green Tea include a longer life and recent studies have associated this tea with anti-carcinogens. There are two types of green tea, Steamed and Kiln-roasted. Steaming the tea takes out its bitter taste.
Japanese Green Tea contains two active groups of chemicals known as xanthines (ingredients that suppress inflammation and irritation and reduce cellulite) and polyphenols or catechins (contain powerful antioxidant properties that are 20 times stronger the Vitamin E).
Leaves of the tea plant which are treated with steam or roasted to denature the enzymes that cause the leaves to darken and change taste.
This leaf extract contains antioxidants to intercept free radicals and ward off signs of aging. It also has moisturizing and soothing properties.
Green tea burn fats efficiently because of catechin polyphenols which works well by oxidizing fats, this in turn increases thermogenesis. Thermogenesis is the rate in which the body burns calories. An increase in such means that the calorie that is consumed by the body is ‘burned off’ more easily. The increase is aid to last for almost 24 hours, thus even if green tea is only consumed once a day, its ‘caffeine effect’ would last longer. Insulin and blood is also found to be normalized by green tea. Cholesterol level is also lowered with green tea’s catechins, moreover, only the LDL or the bad cholesterol is affected.
Green tea is like exercise in food. This burns the fats just like exercise routines do, it also increases metabolic rate. Most of the effects of consuming green tea are comparable with exercise. This also helps in increasing energy expenses. This helps by using the consumed calories.
Hoodia, in turn, is like a successful diet that maintains food intake to its minimum. This creates the gap between the required calorie intake and the actual calorie consumed by the users. With it, the body automatically points to the stored energy to be burned off for energy expenditure. Thus, the body fats will be burned off more easily. A natural component of Hoodia also boosts energy level of the users which extends its capability from everyday activities up to a more active lifestyle. Hoodia also contains a blood sugar regulating component that also keeps sugar cravings away.
Hoodia is like a diet that is when combined with green tea ensures weight loss. Simply put, the fat burning ability of the green tea and the appetite suppressing ability of Hoodia is a weight loss miracle. This is a dual action that expels fats and keeps them away. And the best feature of both is that they are natural.
