Histrionic personality disorder is a personality disorder, usually beginning in early adulthood.

Histrionic personality disorder is characterized by a pattern of excessive emotionality and attention-seeking, including an excessive need for approval and inappropriate seductiveness and it is defined by the American Psychiatric Association.

  • Tendency to believe that relationships are more intimate than they actually are

Histrionic personality disorder can diagnose by the health care provider by looking at:

  • Psychological evaluation
  • Overall appearance
There is no formal test to confirm the diagnosis.
